Fox Glacier Tourism

Open, friendly, pure.

Fox Glacier is a small tourist town situated on the West Coast of New Zealand. It is home to New Zealand's longest glacier and offers breathtaking views of New Zealand’s highest peaks, Aoraki/Mt Cook and Mt Tasman.

Fox Glacier Tourism Promotions Group commissioned us to create a 'town brand' and subsequent advertising material to increase their profile in the New Zealand tourism industry. This project also helps to create exposure for the smaller operators in Fox Glacier.

We wanted to create a simple, clean brand, with a glacial feel to reflect the following key characters of the township - relaxing, pure, friendly with an iconic glacier. As you will see, we have used a simplistic clean font, and created a graphic of a slice of ice to encompass these characteristics.

They have also adopted the strapline: 'Open, friendly, pure' which we have used on all advertising (brochure, skifield chairlift advertising blocks, website, Twitter & Facebook).

We both designed & art-directed the new Fox Glacier brochure, which included sourcing of professional photography. One key feature within the brochure is an area which contains key contacts for accommodation, activities & dining in Fox Glacier which is designed to increase the value to the traveller (ie. it's less likely to be thrown in the bin!). This brochure is used as a key marketing tool, which is distributed throughout the South Island.

The Fox Glacier website functions as an information website, providing travellers with detailed information on the township. The website has achieved page 1 results in the search engines which ensures good traffic and consequently good exposure for operators.

• Unique operator log-in to enable updating of listing information
• Listing statistics (operators can view the number of clicks on their contact details on their listing)
• News feed
• 'Fox-cam' web cams
• Photo gallery
• Useful contacts table
• Basic search facility

Following Golive of Fox Glacier's website, a Facebook and Twitter account were created which provides an online marketing channel for the township. You will see in the portfolio below, the branded Twitter background that has been created which extends the presence of the Fox Glacier brand.
